Citi added insurance to my loan even though I had provided proof of insurance. This raised my payment so even though I was paying my regular payment every month, they counted it as short paid. 9 months later, I am still fighting with them to get my account straightened out. They finally took the insurance off but credited it back to my premium instead of applying it to my past payments. I have been called 4-5 times a day for months, can't get anyone to review my account and have been reported negatively 4 times. DON'T USE CITI IF YOU HAVE OTHER OPTIONS!!! This loan was supposed to help build my credit and it has ruined my score.

It took me 4 months to get the automatic debit set up & I dealt with terrible customer service. Since then I have been working hard to make extra payments, and this month my automatic debit was not pulled and I was told it was because I paid too much extra. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of trying to pay the loan off early? I know what they are trying to do, and it keeps people with bad credit in a hole. I can't wait to have this paid off. I have improved my credit greatly in the past 3 years and will not need a subprime loan ever again.

Citibank was perfect for getting a straight forward no frill car loan, with still low rates and a good term. The people were trustworthy and easy to work with.
