Have about $100K overall student debt, about 1/2 of which is with Citibank. They take monthly payments directly from my Citibank checking account, but I don't get a statement or warning that they're going to do this, so that's frustrating. At least I have a non-fluctuating interest rate. Probably won't be able to pay these off for 20 years. I have three different loans with Citibank for some reason -- they never consolidated into one, but they do take all the money out in one chunk (about $350 per month for this loan group).

In attempting to pay off balance in full each time we talk to them we get a different $ payoff.(by thousands). I really wonder how many people are paying more than they should.

I've been mostly happy with CitiAssist since graduating from school in 2006. They adjust rates quarterly - based on prime - so it can take a few months for an interest rate change to trickle through. But it comes eventually.

Auto-payment is very reliable and consistent as well as the ability to make one off payments in order to pay down faster.
