I was persuaded to apply for a Sears card and found very quickly that the APR changes drastically and without warning. I purchased a Craftsman lawnmower at Sears and began payments on the card. They dropped my credit limit without notice or late payments and increased the interest rate by almost fifteen percent! The savings are negligible, considering the hassle owning this card was. I wouldn't recommend it for anyone.

Can we say junk? I was so sorry I got sucked into trying the Sears card. I pay in full promptly and they still tried to add interest on there. It was not worth the hassle. I'll stick to my Discover card!

Similar experiences to Juney & MIllerbug, lowered our credit limit - even after telling us we had a good account history. Our tax dollars at work bailing out these companies is a joke - it just ends up hurting us more. We have closed our account as Citibank and Sears are no longer able to meet our needs.

I have had this card for a year now. They are always changing some policy. My balance as went from 5,000 to 2,500 for what reason I'm not sure. They say it was after reviewing my account. I plan on paying it off and leaving citibank. I would look for another card to purchase things at Sears with.

If I had known citibank had control of the sears gold mastercard,I would not have gotten the card. My limit was dropped from 12k down to 5k one day.I had a balance of over the 5k.Thats when I started getting hit with over credit fees etc. etc .etc.The person I contacted was very rude and told me they could do things like this anytime they wanted to. Then came the bullcrap about being late one time. I have pulled my last six payments prior to this downgrade and can verify there was not a late payment due to any fault of mine.. I believe this falls in the category of a sham job for illegal collections. I plan on turning all of this over to a lawyer to find out the truth of the matter with this con artist from Citi south dakota I talked to a couple of months ago. Citi is falling flat on their butts at the present. I can actually understand why after talking to the jerk I talked to Also my APR was jacked to max.

The reward points are a plus, but I had my card since 89 and was late on one payment and they jacked the rate up- I do not use it as my main card anymore.
I paid it off and it sits behind my other cards!

My husband and I shopped at Sears quite often before we even knew about this card. You can earn great savings on all Sear's products. It's quite valuable considering the money you can save on all the big ticket items you'd need and can find at Sears.
