I think the $299 no interest for "X" months can be good, especially for projects. However, Citibank is a terror to work with. Last month I got charged a late fee because citibank stopped using my ebill service but did not notify me. I assumed my bill was being paid but it was not. Acknowledging their error, citibank waived the late fee. It was a nice gesture but I still had to pay the fee upfront. I did pay the amount due by phone. The citibank agent typed in the account number incorrectly, despite the fact that I corrected her. Well, you got it, the "check" bounced so I was assessed a returned check fee, and was assessed the late fee once again. As a result I was being told to pay an amount 10 times more than my usual payment. When I reminded them that the input error was theirs, Emma told me that as a courtesy they would waive the fees but I still had to pay the inflated minimum payment due. I made the mistake of asking how this was a courtesy since both errors were on the part of citibank. Emma told me that she did not have to waive them if she did not want to. The next business day I called back to discuss the minimum due. I explained that I did not have that amount to pay. The rep kept saying,"we cannot do anything about this, it is in the system. But maam, it is going to benefit you in the long run." I asked about the short run, however When I asked to speak to a supervisor, i waited for 10 minutes. The supervisor refused to come to the phone. He sent a message via the customer service rep, "we will have special circumstances to look into your case. You will need to check periodically your balance on line. But if you miss the next due date you will be assessed another late fee."

Just be very careful because citibank runs more than one type of scam

Wow are u serious? ok first off as far as the credit card you received that is not illegal by any means, believe me i am studying legal justice at usc.As a customer it is our responsibility to read the terms and conditions of any card or service we sign up for...EVERYTHING is included in there including interest rates and it states they do have the right to issue a replacement card w/o your permission if necessary.I know we all don't read that because it is a lot of fine print, but in reality no one is to blame but yourself for not being informed on the terms because like i said it is OUR responsibility to read that info... Every card i have ever received works pretty much the same, and if you can't take 10 minutes out of your day to cover that important material then you don't need a credit card anyway. Not to be mean but i just get tired of people placing the blame on everyone else other than taking responsibility...

I have good credit but the rate on my Home Depot Credit card has risen. I owed them exactly $35.64 when the increase was listed on my statement. In the past I never owed more than $650.00 and ALWAYS paid more than minimum and on time. The least I ever paid was 25 % of the balance. My last statement shows the apr for my card is now 29.99 %. That is OUTRAGEOUS! Home Depot must be having some serious financial trouble.

As has been repeatedly reported, Citibank, the issuer of the Home Depot card regularly scams their own customers. For example, I have had a Home Depot card for about a year, purchased some items and paid the card off quickly. Had the card sitting around for a long while with a 0 balance. Then recently received a letter in the mail that states "Congratulations! Because you're a valued Home Depot cardmember, you've been selected to receive the new Citi MasterCard. This card is a replacement for your existing Home Depot Consumer Credit Card, issued by CitiBank, N.A. Your replacement card comes with a new account number and will arrive in the mail soon." Then it says that if you don't want the card you have to call a certain number by a certain date!

This is absolutely unbelievable! Why should I have to take precious time out of my day to sit on hold to cancel a card I never wanted. Also, the packaging is cleverly designed to look like a new credit card solicitation. I nearly threw it out!!! I was very luck since i usually don't analyze credit card junk mail.

First off, this type of marketing is illegal. CitiBank is bending a technicality because they are saying that the new card and old card are both from CitiBank. But both cards are very different. One is a consumer card and the other is a credit card.

Scam artists! I guess that's what we should expect from a company that provides money laundering services for Colombian drug lords.

when I had my kitchen renovated, the Home Depot credit card helped out a lot because it has a no interest, no payment deal going on. so i signed up for the card and used it to pay for all the material I got from home depot. at the time, i just purchased the house and didn't have the cash to do the work needed, but with the no interest no payment deal, i got everything done and paid for the labor upfront, which I didn't have to pay for the material until much later.
