It's a good idea to know how and when you'll need your money when you open a CD. Remember, you get punished for early withdrawal, but it's a great way to build interest. That's why I say that you're certain that you won't be tempted to touch the money you invest at the beginning and choose a term that works for you.

I just started a CD for three years at a great interest rate. Citizens Bank was very friendly and easy to do business with.
