I originally invested in CDs with E-Trade's predecessor, WingspanBank.com. Wingspan became E-Trade and I let my CDs roll over for for several cycles. However, when I decided to redeem my CD and invest in another bank, it took me nearly two months for them to "release" my money, even though I had requested a check at maturity. Somehow, they lost my original signature card and were not satisfied with any documention I sent them to prove I was "me." It was a nightmare to deal with their call center and find someone in authority who could help me. It took nearly 60 days for them to mail me a check. NEVER AGAIN will I deal with E-Trade.
