Complete Savings Reviews
I just opened this account a month ago and have had a great experience with it so far. Anyway you spin it 3.3% is an excellent rate that allows for more noticeable and substantial gains than most savings accounts out there. It is very easy to sign up for and with no fees of any kind you can't go wrong.
Etrade is just okay. The issue I have with Etrade is the delay from the time you initiate an online money transfer until the time it actually hits your account. When asked about this issue, Etrade actually blames the clearing firm. Overall, it's convenient.
I signed up for the E*Trade max-rate checking account through this link. It provides unlimited ATM fee reimbursements and unlimited online bill payments. However, if you want the maximum interest rate and waiver of the monthly fee ($15), you have to maintain a balance of $5,000 or more. If you don't have that much, you're better off going with the savings account, which offers a slightly lo…wer rate, but no fees and no minimum balance.
As for the account set-up, it was easy at first to apply and get my first $100 transfer accomplished. But then I must've done something wrong, because I couldn't see my account online, and I had to call customer service. Their only solution for me was to re-enroll for online access to the account (huh?) even though I'd signed up for it online in the first place. I had to use a new username and re-enter my existing bank account information. A bit of a pain for an online-centric account! I hope further customer service and online interface issues are a bit better.
