A Fidelity brokerage account offers low commissions to trade stocks, bonds, mutual funds, and options. They also provide independent research, a variety of tools and 24 hour customer service.
I met with a Fidelity Financial Planning Consultant after rolling over my 401k. I do not have much investment experience or the time to mange my own portfolio. I went into the Portfolio Advisory Services and have been thrilled with the performance price, and updates. Knowing that my portfolio is being rebalanced and watched over by professionals is well worth the .87% fee I pay annually. I know that research Fidelity has will get me an extra .87% more than I could do on my own.
I am a young investor, and I opened my first ever brokerage account with Fidelity. I must say I have been thoroughly satisfied with Fidelity's customer service and research tools available. Their tools available for researching common stocks are outstanding with fundamental analysis as my favorite tool. Overall, the no-load mutual funds provided by Fidelity are the only way to go on the market!
I have had fidelity for my stock investments for the past two years. The website is very useful and offers helpful information. I once forgot my password and it only took one phone call for them to help me reset it. I definitely plan to continue to use them in the feature for my investments. Overall I am very pleased with Fidelity!
I am an 18 year old investor, and I opened my first ever brokerage account with Fidelity. I love all the tools available to me for researching individual stocks, and Fidelity has a wide selection of NTF (No transaction fee) mutual funds. I must say I have lost roughly 40% on my portfolio at fidelity but so has most everyone else. One thing that I do not particular like about trading at Fidelity is the $20.00 price per trade. I understand all the tools you get with Fidelity, but I still feel like $10-15 trades would be much more reasonable. Overall, I am greatly satisfied with the customer service and accessibility Fidelity Investments provides for their customers.
I have been a member of Fidelity for nearly three years and have enjoyed it thoroughly. My wife was a member prior to me, so I took over her account and tried to salvage what was left of her 401k. The great thing about this brokerage account online are the countless resources and news available. With so much information at your fingertips, it can get to a point where confusion sets in. Nonetheless, if you need a brokerage who has everything, look no further.
Best customer service. Excellent website. Free for purchasing Treasury bonds at auctions. Free solo 401k plan for self-employed. Good rates on money market funds. Fast ACH fund transfers. ETF trades are not free but reasonable. Commission on transaction-fee mutual funds is too high though ($75 buy, $0 sell).
we have lost more money with fidelity than with any other institution. after transfering almost 1M over to fidelity, and after strategizing with a financial advisor, our "conservative" porfolio has lost roughly $70-80K each year for the past 2 years... pardon my french, but screw fidelity. they have made some of the worst investment decisions i've ever seen.
Fidelity excells in a few key areas:
-Index funds. Their "Spartan" family has even lower fees than vaunted Vangaurd does.
-Bond purchases. For example, Treasury bonds purchased from the government have no comission or fee at all, and other fixed income products are quite reasonable.
-Customer service. Fidelity reps are generally regarded as some of the best in the business.
Fidelity has a terrific website for managing investments - buying, selling, researching, and tracking are all done superbly.
I appreciate their call center support too. Their traders are extremely helpful and you won't wait on hold endlessly. Also, expect fantastic customer service from their team.
I have used Fidelity for years, and will continue to use them based on my experience.
