I love my Fifth-Third Student Checking account. I got a free book of checks and $25.00 just for signing up. With my account I also received a free MasterCard Debit card, and being MasterCard, I can use it almost anywhere. I love being able to check my account online and the interface is wonderful. They also have great support for when you lose your card.

Of the banks in my area I found the Fifth-Third bank offers just what my kids were looking for. They just needed a place to put their savings and cash their checks. At the same time they are learning a little financial responsibility. I would probably give it a 5 if there were more banks in the area that offer this service for kids.

You get 5 free non-Fifth Third ATM transactions per statement period and a free incoming wire transfer per statement period which is helpful for college students far from home. You even get free email alerts for both students and parents to keep track of your balance and know when your statement becomes available.
