H&R Block's software includes H&R Block Signature, where clients enter their information and do their returns online and a Block tax professional reviews, edits, signs and e-files the return; and, Block Online Office, where clients enter their information on a questionnaire, submit it online and a Block preparer works up their tax return and files it.

I have used H&R Block 3 times since i've started filing taxes. I absolutely love using H&R Block. I've done it both online as well as in-store. The people have always been more than kind to me, and I will not hesitate to go back with them.
Their prices are very reasonable, and they get my returns back very quickly. I would definitely recommend them.

With tax preparation software easier to use than ever, in-person H&R Block services offers a gut check that you have been doing your taxes correctly all along. It isnt a service I see myself using every year.

One of the benefits, is that H&R Block is everywhere in NYC/NJ area. The convenient store locations and hours make it easy to walk-in and file a return. However, my experience with H&R is that they simply input the numbers I give them and do not provide the tax consulting service I imagined. I was a little disappointed by this.

Overall, my taxes are easy enough to do and I would rather stick with tax preparation software.

I've been using H&R Block's online tax preparation service for a couple of years now. It's great, they make the product easy to use and provide answers to you may have about what to enter in certain areas.

I especially like the fact that I can import my previous year's tax forms (only available when you've used the service in previous years).

They really have made tax preparation easier to do on your own.

The one drawback is that it seems set up for those that have pretty straight forward tax filing...I'm not sure how easy this service is to use when you have a more complicated tax return.

And for the people that are completely into instant gratification, they offer the ability to get a refund check from them instead of having to wait for the government issued one.

I have always thought that H&R Block was a pretty good deal. For the most part the folks who work there are personable and willing to help where they can. I always found comfort that they were able to explain the tax process in a clear way. The other nice thing is that you don't need an appointment and anyone who is there can help you. So for those of us who don't have a very complicated financial situation it works!
