I started with this joint account with my parents at first. I never really touched the account and it gained decent interest. My local Harris was always friendly and allowed me to transfer more the then the limited transfer allowance per month (which I think was 5). However, after a while, I found myself transferring more and I ended up closing the account. All in all it was a great way to save money if you have a couple thousand sitting around.

This is a great account to keep your money in if you want to earn higher interest on it but if you also want regular access to it. Just keep in mind that this money isn't insured by the bank nor the government. Assuming things are good, this is a good financial move.
