The facts: Humana has taken 19 months to reimburse me for one claim. Humana has issued me a check that was no longer "valid." When I asked Humana if they were required to notify me if Humana either cancelled or otherwise made their check invalid, I was told they were not required to notify me about that information because, "we do not intentionally do that." (12/19/07, 3:54PM, celeste parker) Previousley upon asking the same question; is Humana required to notify me of a cancelled or invalvid check, I was told,"Humana is required to send me a notification if a check is cancelled/stopped payment." (12/13/07, 7:12PM, Bryan) While I could continue to site examples of a company that has broken me down emotionally and physically, I would rather you do the following: Think of a few important questions you would like to ask your health insurance company. Write down the questions. Call Humana, and ask your questions. Hang up, and call again within the hour .. day.. ect. and ask the same question to a different representative. If you can recieve a consistant answer from several different persons and/or departments, then you have a good company. However, if you manage to get differing answers each time you call, you should question the validity of the company. Yes, I think Humana has mastered the art of honing in on their prey and then taking the week for all they're worth. I urge you to check every statement you get from your health insurance company.
