Auto Loan from LendingTree

LendingTree connects its customers to car and motorcycle loans offered by lenders across the country. These lenders often offer a better deal than the one available at your local car dealership. All you have to do is fill out one online application and the company will match you with up to four competing lenders. Live customer service is available.

I only received two banks "competing" for me when I applied. The service felt very 1999 in that I couldn't reset my numbers to get new offers, see reviews of those lenders, and compare those offers to any national benchmark. In short, it didn't give me the tools I needed to make a decision.

I recently applied for an auto loan through LendingTree. While I got a bunch of offers from different banks, none of them compared to the kinds of financing options available from dealers right now. I guess, if you're buying a car from another person or a mom-and-pop used car dealership instead of one of the major dealers, you could use LendingTree to get a competitive rate. But in this environment where dealers are giving away more and more incentives in the form of low APR financing, it just doesn't make sense to go with any other option.
