I have had NFCU since 1998 and have NEVER had a problem. I've had car loans, signature loans, credit cards, IRA and now a small business account. They have always offered us a lower rate than the competitor! Once they couldn't approve another car without a down payment unless I sold the other car I had but I was overextended and my credit score was low so I was glad they had approved me at all. They have always been very helpful and going above and beyond several times correcting my mistakes. I have been late on my payments several times and have never had a late fee. They also were the only institution that didn't lower or cancel my credit cards when I paid them off earlier this year like AMEX, Discover, & Best Buy did. They are top notch in my opinion. We have Wells Fargo also and they have never approved us for anything we asked for but they do have a much better online banking interface.

I have been with Navy Federal since 2002 and I must say they were the most friendly and helpful banking institution that I have ever dealt with... Until the last year or so....

The whoe attitude of the institution has changed, almost to a shady level. No one is polite or courteous anymore. I had a due date on my loan that I missed by two days, and I was greeted with a call from the most rude person I've ever met. You know, the kind of person that you know is a real scrawny dork in person, but gets his rocks off speaking condescendingly to people behind the protection of the phone line... When I asked to speak to his supervisor, after more attitude, he transferred me to her. She was less overtly condescending; instead of the macho dork mentality, she had more of a sarcastic method of condescension. Of course, it was my bad for not making the payment on time, so I made it at that instant, but I was incredibly taken aback by the way I was treated. Of all institutions I've used, NFCU is the last one I'd ever expect to do that.

I would have recommended this institution to anyone a couple years ago, without even thinking about it. Now, I've switched my direct deposit to another bank, and I'm paying off my Credit Card and loan to NFCU as fast as possible so they receive as little as possible from any interest.

As you can see from other reviews, NFCU used to be a 5-star institution. They are now nothing like they used to be. For anyone that used to be a member before they turned sour, it's just shocking the transformation that has taken place. I'm at a loss of words. If I could give them less than one star, I would. I feel very uncomfortable that people like this have access to my personal information.

I have used NFCU for many auto loans and motorcycle loans. As a person with "Fair" credit I like NFCU. As long as you have a good standing with the credit union they will approve you and still give you a decent APR. I give them a 5!

Terrible. Easy to sign up but to resolve any complications or issues, no one seems to know what is going on and will not help to resolve.
