Sorry Heather, I have to agree with Joe. Sounds like the C.U was more interested in banking your $$$ then trying to help you save.

A 12 month CD to save for a car? Your CD must have a high balance in order to even earn enough interest to make enough money in dividends to make it worth your time. If you have a 10,000.00 CD at 1.34% you will make approximately 135.00, which you will have to pay taxes on. You would be better off going into a dealership and play "lets make a deal" and talk the price of the car down. There are other banking institutions who offer car brokers or a service where they find you the car you like at the price you want to pay. I hope the bankers informed you of this as well, IMO.

Onpoint made the process easy, no confusing jargon just real service.
I now have a 1 year CD to save for a car, and it is working out well. The options were fair, the interest rate is about average. I am well informed on how they work thanks to the great explanation from the bankers at OnPoint.
