I've had a checking account with Regions for about 5 years. It's a free account, and you don't have to have a minimum balance in your account at any particular time. I don't use my account there much, mainly when I need a transfer of funds from someone who doesn't have a Suntrust bank near. I always leave a couple of cents in there, and they don't hassle me about that. It's a great checking account, in my opinion.

I have been banking with Regions for about a year now and I absolutly love it. The Basic Checking is free and I have access to my account online 24/7. Even though the overdraft fees are a little high, overall it is a great bank.

I have held a Regions checking account for almost a year now. It is a student checking account, so everything is free. I was given tons of free checks when I opened the account, so that was really nice. However, it is uncanny how easy it is to overdraft even if you keep a surgically close eye on your spending... the fees add up incredibly fast and the staff is less than willing to accomodate. The branch I usually visit isn't extremely pleasant, but anywhere else they have been very nice and polite. Overall, I would probably choose another bank if I had the time to switch everything.

I've been a Regions user for about three years now, and I've been very satisfied with it. The staff at my local branch is very helpful and friendly. I haven't been hit with any unexplainable fees, and the interest on the account is reasonable. Overall, I'd recommend Regions to anyone looking for their first checking account.

The basic checking account we have at Region's is for students. So, there are no monthly fees or charges for basic use. However, be very careful not to accrue any overdraft charges as these fees are excessively high! Also, the customer service department at Region's is not very knowledgeable. Expect to be transferred numerous times if you ever have a problem! Overall though, this is a good, basic checking account that we have kept because there are no monthly fees.

Regions Bank changed from AMSOUTH to Regions about a year ago. At first i really liked doing business with them but was hit with some fees that they seemingly couldn't explain. They were also hard to reach when i tried by phone to contact them. So overall they are a mediocre.
