Smith Barney offers a full-service investment brokerage account known as the Financial Management Account. This account allows you to consolidate, manage, monitor and access your cash and other assets, simply and conveniently. With this account you'll receive monthly and year-end statements that provide a snapshot of your assets and account activity.
I have used Smithbarney for many years, when I decided to move my accounts I was hit with large fees to transfer them, one of the reasons I moved was cause I am worried that they will disappear or merge, that is their mismanagement.
I have an old mutual fund in Smith Barney and generally let it sit and do its thing. When I have had a need to log onto the web site or contact someone the service has been reliable.
The site is a bit antiquated and not the most user friendly, but the customer service number is pretty good. Short wait times and I always get the information I need.
Overall, not too bad.
I have been using Smith Barney for years and it is generally a good service, although their fees are steep given the availability of low-cost options available in the market. Their website has also not evolved much in the last decade, which has been disappointing.
