State Farm Disability Insurance comes in three varieties - Disability Income Insurance, Mortgage Disability Insurance and Individual Credit Disability Insurance. Disability Income Insurance gives you a monthly income stream when you miss work. Mortgage Disability Insurance provides mortgage relief during a period of disability absence from work. Individual Credit Disability Insurance provides loan relief.
I have had a State Farm Disability Policy for 6 years. Recently I was in a car accident which has left me unable to sit or stand for more than 90 minutes at a time. Social Security considers me 100% disabled and I am very much unable to work. State Farm has denied my claims and treated me poorly while repeatedly claiming that I don't qualify as 'their' definition of disabled. My attorney, and the NC State Insurance Advocate both agree that my claim falls under the definition of disability, yet it's been 18 months and they are still fighting to not pay my policy. I feel like I have been taken advantage of for the last 6 years I faithfully paid premiums. Do not ever purchase a policy from this company!
I recently purchased disability income insurance from State Farm because in tough economic times you have to be prepared when your family is at stake. The people at State Farm are fantastic and really care about finding you the best and most appropriate for your situation. I would recommend State Farm to anyone.
Goodness, do you realize how transparent that statement is? So is it you or somebody in your family that works for SF? Did you copy/paste that statement directly from the SF disability brochure?
With disability the devil is in the details. I would not get a policy that is not 100% own-occ and does not have the option to be guaranteed until 65, 67 or lifetime.

Thank for info since i am filing for claim. My question is; do you have to pay your premium while you are fighting them for approval of your claim?
