Preferred Checking from SunTrust Bank

Preferred Checking offers interest on the money you keep in your account—albeit, not much (in April it was just 0.05%). In addition to unlimited free check-writing, you'll also get free checks and online bill payment. In order to avoid $9 monthly maintenance fee, you'll need to maintain a $5,000 average monthly balance.

Suntrust has been a pretty good bank to have a checking account with. I recently opened up the online bill pay and account monitoring, and that is very convenient. I have a few problems though. For example, replacement checks are fairly expensive if you get them through Suntrust. Also, it seems like every month I get a random charge on my account "service fee" of 9$ or so. Also, I think Suntrust tells some of their tellers to try to upsell products, which is annoying if you're in a hurry.
