A student checking account from Sun Trust bank is the way to go. The best part of the account is there’s no minimum balance. Back when I was in college I had this same account and there were times when I had $11.00 in my account. Other banks would have charged me fees for not keeping a minimum balance.

I had this account throughout college, I never had any problems, they waived fees the few times I needed them to and the people who work at SunTrust where excellent. I would recomend them to anyone. I still use them today.

Easy to get signed up and there are no fees (continues after graduation with direct deposit). The online management is really good too.
