The account has tiered interest rates and comes with a check card that allows you to earn your choice of rewards including cash, travel, merchandise and affiliation.

I recently opened an interest plus with US bank. The rates are pretty good, I have to agree with the OP. Obviously keeping more money in the account yields a higher interest rate overall, so it's only as powerful as what you can afford to put in.

If you've got the $2000 for the initial deposit, US Bank's interest plus is a great checking account. You get fantastic rates, not to mention a rewards check card. Even if you don't have $2000 to initially deposit, you can still enjoy the account, there is just a small monthly fee.
