US Bank's Silver Elite Checking account is for people ages 55 and up. The account has no minimum balance requirement or monthly maintenance fee. The account has tiered interest rates. Other perks include free traveler's checks, cashier's checks, money orders, non-US Bank ATM transactions and a check card that allows you to earn your choice of rewards including cash, travel, merchandise and affiliation.

This checking account from US bank isn't all that spectacular. They disguise it as having added bonuses for older customers, but it's really nothing special. From what I can tell, you can barely get a .01% interest on your savings in most areas, and that's only for qualified customers who keep at least $50000 in the account. It's probably alright to call it a decent checking account, but they a…dvertise it as more and it doesn't deliver.
