My husband and I received a $100 gift card for Christmas. We've had a tough year financially and haven't been eating out as much as we used to, so we decided to spend our $100 on a nice dinner. When it came time to pay, the card would not go through. When we called to find out why, they said that the card would only initially cover $83.33 and the rest of the $100 would be avialable in a week. T…hey ran the card for $83.33 and it still wouldn't work. I ended up paying for our meal with cash and being stuck with the stupid card. When I called this morning to ask for a check instead of a gift card, they said that there would be a $15 fee to close the account...meaning I'd only get $75 back. They informed me that it would be in my best interest to just keep the card, but warned me that I would encounter problems using it at restaurants, gas stations, and salons. Thanks visa. Horrible gift.

The Visa gift card from US Bank is a great way to teach teenagers to handle money. The cards are able to be reloaded so kids can budget their allowance as it comes in. Its great for them also because they can shop online. The visa debit card works just like a credit card

I just gave one to my niece for her birthday, she hasn't had any problems with it yet. It's much safer than carrying cash around and you can use it anywhere. This way they can spend it on whatever they want, but it's much nicer than giving cash.

They suck, its a big SCAM, they continuously lock my card, take out 2.99 a month and place a temporary $75 charge if you use it at a gas station. I have never seen such BS. They are a big ripoff, if somebody give me another one I will punch them.
