I own several Vanguard Funds and am happy with them all (mostly index funds of one variety or another). Each fund has significantly lower fees than comparable funds offered by others. The company website has a lot of good information and is very easy to navigate. I appreciate their investing philosophy and efforts to educate investors.

I have had a Vanguard High Yield corporate bond fund for years. It's best feature is that it is a no-load fund and thus has no costs in depositing. Another good point is the yield is very high. The bad is that the fund price does fluctuate a lot and it can be very risky..It is a good fund if your goals are long-term.

I have an index-type mutual fund with Vanguard as a Roth IRA. I really love the ability to send funds via direct deposit from my job so that I can easily contribute to the account without really even noticing the impact to my paycheck! They also have extra layers of security on the website that make me feel very comfortable.
