It is a great deal. Washington Mutual employees are very friendly and helpful. I would not ever chose any other financial institution. I am completely satisfied with the Free Checking Account and all of their services.

This is mostly an excellent service for business checking. Low costs, no minimum balance, great for startups. However, O/D fees have been creeping up the last few years. All in all, good company.

I had a washington mutual account for two years. I had a hard time getting customer service by phone and I was charged multiple fee's for overdrafts caused by their error.

The online registering process was really short and simple, and the minimum balance needed to open a checking account is really low. They offer great services such as paying bills online. Quite recommendable overall.

I switched to Washington Mutual from a smaller credit union. I love them. It was really easy to set up the account. I did it online in a matter of minutes and got my checks and card within a week. The free checking is really nice and I have actually used the overdraft a few times, accidentally, and they were nice enough to reverse the charges. Setting up my checking account online was a breeze. I got my debit card and checks within a week. The online bill pay feature makes paying my bills easy and saves me postage.

Well I have been with WaMu for the past couple of months. I used the sign up onling option. It was really quick and easy. I opened my free checking account and my savings account that way. I am happy about WaMu being bought by JPMorgan Chase recently. I havent had any real issues with the transition. They made it very painless. Wamu is for me, its great.

I have had this checking account for about 6 years and I love it. I have had no problems at all. I have never had a hassle with Wamu when I have a dispute, I have lost my bank card a few times and they cancelled and sent a new one speedily, I have had a great experience thus far. Now that they have been bought by Chase I hope that good service carries over.

I had this checking account for several years before switching to another bank. They offered many perks such as free checking, bill pay, and free checks with the gold card. I decided to switch banks simply because a branch location of another bank made more sense for me.

I have had this checking account for about a year and a half now and I love it! I especially love the fact that I get one free overdraft refund a year and if by chance I do overdraft my account, they charge per charge not per day. I like that I don't have to pay anything to talk to a teller too! Everyone that I have met in the branches are really nice and very helpful. I have never personally h…ad a problem with them but I know others who have and the people they work with always get the problem resolved. Any fees that they got were even refunded since it wasn't their fault.
