I have been a customer since 2000. Their customer service is the best among all the banks i have used. Except for the high overdraft fee and like them and I continue to bank with them.

I love Washington Mutual's Free Checking Account. i switched from Wells Fargo two years ago, and have no complaints. Their customer service is awesome, they have great features and numerous ATM's in my area. Awesome checking account.

The account is very convenient. The online interface overall is good. The lack of almost all common fees is great. No minimums, no direct deposit needed, free checks, and so on.

Mediocre at best. I've been with them for quite a while. I was very disappointed when they promised to help folks out who were affected by a natural disaster in my area a few years back, but then didn't refund a few overdraft fees. Notorious for nickle-and-diming you, especially with overdraft fees. I don't see any redeeming value to this service, look around, especially at the Schwab Inves…tor Checking account.

HORRIBLE! They will nickel and dime you ever instance possible and their telephone banking is HORRIBLE - want to talk to India? Call them! I had a $400 unauthorized hold placed on my account and they were unable to do ANYTHING. I will be switching ASAP and not look back.

I've had a Wamu checking account since I was 16 and in high school. I'm in college now going to school in a new city. From the beginning they took care of me despite my age and offered me tons of free services. Wamu doesn't nickel and dime you, and there service is great. I've never had any complaints. Despite the fact the fact that I'm in a new city, and soon to be moving out there. I've had n…o trouble finding a Wamu bank branch, or gotten anything but great service.

Washington Mutual has been the best national bank I've dealt with. They are always friendly and very helpful, especially when they helped me setup a free checking account. They explained everything throughly! I'm very satified with my account with WaMu.

I am extremely happy with my Wamu Free Checking Account from Washington Mutual. The online site is very easy to navigate and conduct everyday procedures such as money transfers and bill pay. I have never had a single problem on a statement. They constantly update my transaction history which makes it easy for me to keep tabs on all of my debits and withdraws. Thank you Wamu!

I opened a a Wamu Free Checking Account with Washington Mutual about 2 years ago and I could not be happier. I had my checking account with Bank of America before and I was very unhappy with their customer service. At WaMu the service is outstanding, there are never any mistakes on my statement or problems whatsoever. I did have an overdraft fee, due to a miscalculation on my part, and they act…ually waived the fee no questions asked. I will not be moving my checking account anytime soon.

I had a free checking account with WaMu for many years. Their account features were great. The free checking made things simple. The employees there were always helpful. Their policies for customer mess-ups are great as well. I once accidently overdrafted my account by a couple hundred dollars. WaMu understandable charged a fee, but I was impressed that they honored the check I had written so I… thankfully did not bounce a check. This bank is very understanding and willing to work with their customers.
