Do you think to apply for a mortgage loan with Well Fargo? My advice: Run away from them.
If you are thinking to take a mortgage loan from Well Fargo, prepare yourself to have a lot of problem, and do not even think you can close on time. It has been over 7 weeks since we applied for a mortgage. We still do not have a commitment letter. If you think we are not well qualified customers, it is not true. Both, my husband and I, have a credit score 780-800, we are putting down 42%, both have stable jobs with yearly income of 50% of the loan we are requesting. Perfect customers, I would think. After we applied, they did not ask us for any additional info. Three weeks later they come up with additional request. We submitted all the documents promptly. I was contacting the mortgage consultant about the progress of the loan approval and each time he would come up with all kind of excuses or lies why it not done yet. Two days prior to closing (on a sales contract) they contacted me and asked for more info!!!! When I asked about closing day guarantee, Well Fargo advertises it on their website, they basically said that it does not apply to our case!!! I just would like to know, if someone in Well Fargo doing the work or not. If we cannot receive the commitment letter for over that 7 weeks, who can?
It should have been my closing date today, but "thanks to Well Fargo" it would be responded or never happened. I feel so frustrated and angry. I curse the day I went to Well Fargo. I should have gone to credit union or the other bank. If you do not want to be in our situation: Run away from them if it not too late.

I have my mortgage through Wells Fargo. I have been very happy with the online banking system to manage my account. I haven't had any issues with them.

If you want to obtain a home loan from a friendly company, kindly pass this one up. They offer horrible customer support that does not seem to improve based on what time of the day you call. You would never guess this about the company, based on their superb looking rates, but it is true none the less. I do not recommend Home purchase loans from Wells Fargo if you want good customer support handy.

We used Wells Fargo 5 years ago when we purchased our home. I was able to negotiate a good rate and I have been very pleased with our experience with them since then. It's nice to feel like our mortgage is held with a sturdy and dependable banking institution.

I never had any dissapointments regarding my loan with Wells Fargo. Then again, I never had any issues that I needed resolved by them, so I can't really assess how they perform in the customer service category. Their interest rates were reasonable. All in all, I was satisfied with my experience with Wells Fargo.

OMG if I could have rated them lower I would have. They have no customer service at all. We had a mortgage throught them and would call to talk to a "customer service rep" who "documented" the call in the computer said they would find out an answer and to call back in a couple days. Now mind you when you call back you get a different rep. When we called back they said they saw where it was documented in the computer but that isn't what they do so it is all wrong BUT they will find out so....call back in a couple days. We did and nothing was done, we asked to talk to a supervisor but we couldn't (they probably didn't have one) so they asked us to call back in a couple days. Which time we asked for their name and extension to call THEM back. No thats not possible we were told. IT WAS A NIGHTMARE! I am sure this bank is great if everything runs smoothly and you have no problems...but if you do....you have my sympathies.

worst customer service I ever had! The line disconnects everytime I call them. They send out chains of letters that do not answer my requests for loan payment plans. Took 3 months to get a response from their agents, all puppets repeating the same thing while I get disconnected!

In the summer of 2005 my now exhusband and I wanted to purchase a house. We went to one bank and they were going to charge us a very high interest rate so we went up the road to Wells Fargo. The loan officer at Wells Fargo that we worked with (her name was Norma) was very helpful and spent almost two hours going over all the paperwork and options with us. They preapproved us for the loan amount that we were wanting and within 30 days we had closed on our house. After my now exhusband and I split up they were very helpful in helping him to refinance his home mortage to get my name off of the loan.

In the past 27 yrs I've had four loans with Wells Fargo. As a newly married airman buying my first home they took the time to explain the loan process and help us complete the paperwork.
Their interest rates have always been competitive and they've always taken the time to explain how different types of loans would best benefit my property purchase situation.
When military pay was delayed a call to customer service was all it took to get a late fee waiver.
My payments are debited against my Wells Fargo checking account and there has never been any problems.
Even now with the current credit crunch I didn't have any problem getting approved, they needed a bigger down payment, but still the loan was approved and funded in 10 business days.

Wells Fargo was very willing to work with our situation. My husband had just recently become a Realtor, so part of our income was unpredictable and we had little money to put down. They were able to find a great product with a good rate and the loan process went off without a hitch.
