I think (and hope) a better technology will become available and popular in 5-7 years. Lighter materials and better aerodynamics will make more efficient cars.

With the focus on going green, and all the incentives for energy efficient cars, SUVs, etc. I think we'll see hybrids have taken over the road in the next 2 decades.
