Don't feed him/her as soon as he/she wakes up. Change the diaper, sing a song or two. Basically, you're training the baby to go longer w/o food. Your 3AM hungry wake up will soon move to 4AM, then 5AM etc...

The only words of wisdom that I could share, is try to get your newborn into a consistent routine with feeding and sleeping - this is huge.
