The bank ATM fee is a pet peeve of mine. I always try to manage my pocket liquidity perfectly. On the once a year I get caught out it usually ruins my month.

I seldom ever use the ATM... as I seldom use cash... I just try to plan ahead for those times I do want to use cash, and if I MUST use an ATM, I try to use my home bank so that there are no fees.

One of the ways around the fees was to maintain a certain balance in my checking account. But was far too much to keep in checking, so now I'm just trying to be smart about when, where, and how much I use the machine.
