I don't have air conditioning at home, but when I did and when I'm on the road I stick with 78. I can't even find the backup anymore, but I remember reading that 78 was the environmentally-friendly setting. It sounded high to me, but once I tried it I found it pretty comfortable.

We have window units. We DO use the energy saver mode, as much as possible. Unfortunately the energy saver mode on the bedroom unit is incompatible with the dehumidify mode, which sometimes is really necessary, so compromises are required. But I try to use the best energy saver mode of all, as much as I can, which is not to run it at all. When it gets really hot, though, we will need to run at least one of them all day long for the cats.

Being that I no longer have central air I have to default to the air conditioning being on or off. None of this fancy temperature setting or energy saver stuff =)

I do use energy saver...but we keep it at 70 because we've got a dog at home that gets overheated WAY too easily. I'd love to keep it at 67, but that would cost a fortune!
