Everyone's looking to save what they can right now. It might be easier than you think. Here are three tips for finding free money online.

Sign up and save on restaurant dining: If you're bent on eating out then check out Restaurant.com before you make your reservations. This site lets you buy $25 gift certificates from a large selection of restaurants for only $10 a piece. For $20, you can get a $50 gift certificate. So go out, dine well, and save a little too!

And wait, there's more: Take advantage of this discount code before Halloween and you'll get an extra 80% off your purchase price. That's right, you will pay $2 for a $25 gift card.

Speaking of saving 80%... One blogger says he found a way to decrease the price of his airline tickets by 80%. He says that adding a leg to your trip can drop your ticket price dramatically. For example, a ticket from Nebraska to Minnesota usually costs around $800 a ticket. But a multi-stop ticket from Nebraska to Minnesota to Missouri only costs $165. He books the third stop, gets off at his intended destination (the second stop) and saves big.

I tested this theory out on my own — sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. It's at least worth exploring the next you plan a flight. You might luck out.

You may have to dish out cash for what you want up front, but you can save big later - as long as you remember to mail in the rebate!
