I worked in investment banking for Robertson Stephens and investment consulting at Cambridge Associates before attending Stanford's journalism school and landing at FiLife. While at Cambridge Associates, I got my asset allocation religion, helping construct investment portfolios for families with lots of money plus a variety of endowment funds. My clients included the Smithsonian, the United States Tennis Association, the Whitney Museum of American Art and my alma mater Williams College. I helped manage their asset allocations and select investment managers, among other things.
