Since DC parking can be a nightmare, the Metro turns out to be an excellent choice for getting around. That said, one can do even better by using Priceline. I did so a few weeks back. Got the Hyatt Regency Crystal City for $50 a night. There are three other major hotels right near by, all usually in the same price range, compared to $150-200 rack rates. What's more, if you arrive by car, overnight parking is considerably less expensive than in the better-known neighborhoods.
